How we handle your data.
What we collect, why, and what we deliberately do not. The short version: as little as possible, and never your broker credentials or your funds.
01Our approach to data
GhostTrader is built to hold as little of your data as possible. The same non-custodial principle that keeps us away from your funds also keeps us away from your data: we collect what is needed to run the service and nothing beyond it.
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we deliberately do not collect. It covers the website, the waitlist, the free tools, and GhostTraderOS.
02What we do not collect
We also do not collect your broker balance history, your full trade history, or your personal financial holdings for our own use. What the software processes to execute a trade is described below.
03What we collect
On the website and waitlist, we collect what you give us, which is typically your email address when you join the waitlist, and standard technical information such as your browser type and general location, gathered to keep the site working and secure.
For GhostTraderOS, the software processes the operational data needed to route and execute a signal. This includes the trading account number and name you connect, the strategy identifier, and the signal details such as symbol, direction, and levels. This data is used to execute and to keep an audit trail of what was sent, so you can see what the system did.
04How we use it
- To run the service: route signals, apply your risk rules, and record an audit trail.
- To operate the waitlist and tell you when access is available.
- To keep the site and software secure and to diagnose problems.
- To improve the product based on how it is actually used.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
05Sharing
We share data only where it is needed to run the service, for example with infrastructure providers that host the system, and where the law requires it. Any provider we use is bound to handle data on our instructions.
To execute a trade, operational data necessarily moves between your machine, our server, and your broker. Your broker and your platform have their own privacy terms, which govern what they do with the data on their side.
06Cookies
The website uses only the cookies and similar storage needed for it to function and to understand basic usage. We do not use them to build advertising profiles. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
07Retention
We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service and to maintain the audit trail that lets you review what the system did, and then for as long as we are required to for legal or security reasons. Waitlist details are kept until you ask us to remove them or the waitlist is retired.
08Security
We protect data with access controls, encryption of secrets, and off-site backups held under the operator's control rather than in a central store. No system is perfectly secure, and because the setup is non-custodial, the security of your own machine and broker terminal is a part of the overall picture that only you can control.
09Your rights
You can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to any records we are required to keep. Because we hold so little, most requests are simple to fulfill.
To make a request, use the contact options on the GhostTrader website.
10Changes and contact
We update this policy as the product develops, and the current version always applies. GhostTrader, operated from Brandon, Manitoba, Canada, is responsible for the data described here. For any questions about your data or this policy, reach us through the contact options on the GhostTrader website.
